I failed to wake up for an exam this morning. Nearly punched the wardrobe when I seen the time. Last one and all... Guess I'll have to mark a date off in August for repeats.

No. Just...........no. "Luck" never came in to it. It was just a sequence of events that could've happened on any other day except it flukily was that date. Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking away the fact that what they did to you was horrendous..........cos it was.

My birthday is 13th July and one year when I was a kid it fell on a Friday and I got bitten by a cat. Wasn't a black one though, twas marmalade. And my mam gave out to me for taunting the cat while I was crying over my bitten finger. That was a shit day :(

Should've made your own anti gravity generator cat.

Also did you get marmalade super powers? Like being able to turn sticky and sweet and leave a mess all over the chopping board so that the only way to remove you is that dettol spray? No? Ok.

I was born on Friday the 13th, so I guess that'd mean it was lucky for me. I also had a black cat when growing up, and it would've definitely crossed my path on at least two of my birthdays that fell on Friday the 13th. Nothing bad has ever happened on Friday the 13th (that I can remember).

I think you should head to the doc if you're sneezing flubber.

My manager is working from home today, spent the first half of the day playing pokemon on me phone because I lost the key to the locker I lock me laptop in. Took a while for facilites to come down, then needed to call security to get it open.

    Yeah... pretty unlucky day...

God I do hate that phrase:mad:!

People should have the right not to be assaulted by any other person. But sadly there seems to be a prevailing attitude where violence has become normalised (and even in some workplaces), and enabled on so many fronts. Sadly, there are some people who think that they have the god given right to assault another person and in some cases they do so without fear or consequence.

I had a flight to San Francisco one year on Friday the 13th of June, and the ticket far was EXACTLY 666 euro. Luckily I'm not a superstitious sort, and the plane did not fall from the sky.

Violence is normal. Jesus, we're living in the least threatening times in the history of the world. "Become normalized"? It's never been otherwise. It might not be nice but it's nature.

My Friday the 13ths are usually pretty good. Today too.

I broke my foot two years ago on Friday the thirteenth. Reckon it was my friend's fault for being too aggressive during a football friendly than the day itself.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand you missed my point. Which was that Friday the 13th or any invisible hand pushing bad sh*t at you on a day like today is total b*llocks.

I think I was quite clear in my viewpoint on meaningless violence...............Unless you want to take this outside..........No, wait it's raining out........And there are no bouncers around.

    My Friday 13th is also good...so far:D!

This is a topic that I feel so strong about!

This is where I believe the inherent problem lies...when some people begin to see violence as being normal. When you normalise violence you are in effect accepting it, and when you accept it, you are in a way making excuses which is then enabling it!

Violence might be in some people's nature, but the thing is, we all dont go around perpetrating violence on others.

People who commit these sort of crimes at the end of the day have a choice, but unfortunately victims dont have that choice!

I'll give you one example. I trained outside Ireland and in one hospital that I worked in, there was one particular patient who seemed to think that he had the god given right to act aggressively towards staff members. The ward sister went down to this guy, and in no uncertain terms, she told him that she was not prepared to tolerate his sort of behaviour, and she told him, if he chose to continue with this type of behaviour, she'd have no hesitation whatsoever calling the police, and if he had any problem with how he was now being treated, it was quite within his rights as a patient to lodge a formal complaint, or self-discharge himself....and she'd leave that particular form up for him to sign at the nurses station.

When I came back to Ireland, it was a whole different culture.

Many of the people that I worked with, actually saw violence as part of their job:rolleyes:....and they readily made excuses for it. Staff might have huffed and puffed about it in the confines of the staff room, but at the same time, they'd never dare say boo to the violent patient or a relative, press management, and if any violent incident did occur, not only did the police not take it seriously the DPP 9 times out of 10 wouldnt even prosecute it!

There was one very poignant case a couple of months ago, where a paradmedic who was assaulted by a patient spoke out about this very same culture.

I know....I dont believe in Friday 13th superstition either.....

But rain or not, I've got my boxing gloves on:D....

I was shot in the arse one Friday the 13th.

It was only some type of salt cartridge as we were robbing apples from an orchard, as kids do.
