Help Please - Wedding Table Plan

    Hi folks,

I am getting married in July to a lucky, lucky lady:P and I have been allowed to do the table plans. As people are funny creatures so a lot of weddings don't number tables as some people take offence if they are at table 20.

With this in mind I am going to name the tables after horses that have won me a few bob and given me great memories/ shivers even now, along with a few greats. Only a few of the guests watch racing so I thought it would be a good idea to do a montage which we can loop on the tv, where the pre dinner drinks will be so people can put a long face to the table name!! The problem will be getting the footage of the older horses, I am starting with these and would appreciate any suggestions:

    Sea The Stars (top table)
    Arkle
    Kauto Star
    Denman
    Monets Garden
    George Washington
    Lough Derg
    Mon Mome
    Zarkava
    Gallileo
    Northern Dancer
    Nijinsky
    Imperial Commander
    Hurricane Fly
    Moscow Flyer
    Shergar
    Quija Board

    Your suggestions please :D.

I will gladly share the footage I root out with people who help.

Desert Orchid needs to be there. Dayjur's nunthorpe and Arazi Breeders Cup are still the two most electrying performances that Ive seen. Frankel not too far behind.

Urban Sea was a mare, a proper one at that.

    Moscow Flyers tingle Creek also.

I know she was a mare, just sticking her in with the sires cause she is arguably a more successful broodmare than a race horse despite winning the Arc. To produce 2 horses of Galileo and STS calibre, She'd want to have been STS to better that achievement.

    I second Urban Sea.

Try a few names that people won't be able to pronounce after a few beers.
    Jumbajukiba comes to mind.

Black Sam Bellamy wasn't a half bad horse and will be a nice national hunt stallion aswell I'd say. Samain already looks good.

You should put the people that you don't particularly like at tables named after some horses who get beaten about 50 lengths in sellers and they'd never know.

I am going to call the Kauto Star table "French Nag" and stick one of my pals on it. We were out October 09 talking about the Gold Cup, I was saying I though Denman would beat Kauto and I would not be surprised if Imperial Commander beat one or both of them. My mate was getting more and more agitated so I threw in "he is only a French Nag"!! I though he was going to punch me in the face, he then went and told all the rest of the lads what I said and they knew I was taking the pish, he will go nuts at the wedding too.:D

And Galileo ain't a half bad sire and Sea The Stars first foal looked absolutely perfect, if he runs 70% of how he looks like he will he will be a very decent sort.

How about a few English Triple Crown winners?

    Ormonde
    Common (for the wife's family :D )
    Isinglass
    Galtee More (Tipperary people)
    Flying Fox (I don't give a ... )
    Diamond Jubilee (appropriate)
    Rock Sand
    Pommern
    Gay Crusader (no comment)
    Gainsborough
    Bahram

Orby (first Irish winner of English Derby)

How about the best horse of the 20th century?
    Sea-Bird

Sceptre (a great filly who won four of five English classics)
Pretty Polly (great Irish mare from Kildare: 22 wins; 2 seconds from 24 races)

The Byerley Turk, (c.1684-1706) was the earliest of three stallions that were the founders of the modern Thoroughbred horse racing bloodstock (the other two are the Godolphin Arabian and the Darley Arabian).
The stallion is believed to have been captured by Captain Robert Byerley at the Battle of Buda (1686), served as Byerley's war horse when he was dispatched to Ireland in 1689 during King William's War and saw further military service in the Battle of the Boyne.

    Other interesting names
    The Flying Dutchman
    Birdcatcher
    Kincsem (54 wins from 54)

It was her idea, I decided to do the dvd. She has a degree in equine science and worked for the Aga Khan and in Windfields Farm(Northern Dancers yard), she left it though and do you think I would be able to get her to watch them in the paddock? We watched Zarkava's Arc, I was delighted with my 7/1 slips and she picks Its Gino out as her pick of the paddock (150/1 dead heat 3rd)

Thats a crap show, you would have to do something crazy like an underwater wedding!!

Had my biggest ever betting pay day on him when he won the 2000 Gold Cup (backed him at 25s after his King George flop) so you should def consider having a table called Looks Like Trouble.
