    Hi

I use a USB extension lead like this one:

    3M one here..

That's an actual iphone cable as opposed to USB extension.
I'm sure you'll find the same on ebay? Once you know it exists just find the cheapest price!

    .

I've a 3m full iPhone cable on its way from miniinthebox.com. Cost me roughly €4 to €5, if even that.

Yup this is why it's taken a year between iPhone 4 and 5 jobs has been stressing in the lab about over lengthening a cable. We all know that jobs loves cables :pac:

I actually like it. If it was a foot longer it would be perfect.

Apple are stripping the box of bloody everything over the last few years so i wouldn't be surprised if the USB cable goes over the next few years in favour of wireless charging and syncing.

When i saw miniinthebox.com i didn't recognise it and i typed it in to have a look.

Unfortunately its late and i though it said mintinthebox.com :D Which is a totally different site alltogether,
nothing to do with electronics at all.

    My mistake

I don't see a problem with the length of the current cable, plenty of length for the cable to come from the back of my imac or the side or my macbook in fact any longer and i'd be annoyed at the length.

there's two reasons they are stripping the box of everything.

    1. cuts costs and maximises profits.
    2. jobs hates moving parts/cables within the next 3 years there'll be no cables for iphone at all.

Suppose the length isn't the worst at the moment with the current cable. Although its at a tight squeeze where i have mine at the moment.

And sure don't i know only too well why Jobs is stripping the box. Doesn't mean i have to like it.

Original iPhone came with what i would describe as the 'necessary' accessories for the premium price.

iPhone 4 came with the bare minimum with an even higher price.
Whats next your handed a new iPhone 5 directly out of a box of 1000 with no packaging or accessories and the price is €900?

    Classic, lol.

If you don't feel like waiting an age to get one delivered online, I found a pretty lengthy one in the electrical shop in the Jervis Centre (Curry's or Dixon's or one of those). It was like €10 so cheap enough. It only lasted a month, but that's because I don't take good care of my wires. :p

Curiosity got the better of me. In fairness, this thread is about long cables. And there appears to be plenty of them on the site you linked to.....although not much use for your iphone:D
