    Hi,

I made a request to unlock my iphone4 with vodafone and got a text to say it was approved. When I sync the phone with itunes using vodafone SIM got no message to say it was successful. Tried restore and still no look. Apple said to get a SIM from another provider so inserted an O2 SIM but still no message. It says Locked SIM but I entered PIN. Did a restore with O2 SIM but still no message. Any ideas what I can do? Can I assume it is unlocked as it is taking the SIM - just says No service when I unlock SIM. I have not ported yet and this is a test SIM from O2.

Did you try the test sim with an unlocked phone to see whether it does pick up a signal. It sounds like it's still locked to vodafone.

How do you get it unlocked from vodafone? And what are the terms that they agree to that?

I don't have an unlocked phone to test it. Vodafone agreed to unlock it and sent the request to apple for me. I had major problems with calls dropping so vodafone agreed to let me leave contract n keep unlocked phone. I thought that it was unlocked as it just says no service and not locked. I am porting in the morning so hope it is unlocked.

Your going about it right, put a different sim card in and restore. If it works itunes will let you know. Call vodafone to see is it done.
