trade in .. and no log book 8 weeks later. garage shut now

    Hey
    So i recently traded in my old car off a new bigger one and put cash twoards the new one . have a receipt and happy days. now its bee 6 -7 weeks and no log book for new car. i rang two weeks ago and the guy i bought it off says am looking at it here ill post it now sorry. so it hasnt arrived.. Today the dealer i got it from , his number is not in use and his buddy who was working there goes to voice mail... and i dropped over this morning and the yeard was empty.. all 80ish cars gone. i found where my trade in is been sold and went to them asking would they be seeing the guy as i just want my log book and no stress .. i just rang the department of transport and there on lunch. am i ****ed... anyone any clue what to do :confused:

    go to the motor tax office, get the form for a statutory declaration. Take it to a garage with the car to stamp and certify the vin, then to a solicitors/commissiones for oaths and swear that its your car. (costs vary but about €25) back to tax office, they forward it to Shannon Dept of Transport who will send a new cert out to you in approx 2-3 weeks, all being in order.

    No harm to say it seeing as it's shut now.

    not sure if its okay to mention on the site as some times for legal reasons its taken down but it was a fairly big garage on the south side with about 60+ cars .. and suddenly all gone.
