You could try George Frayne, opposite the Garda Station.

Yes, got a few cars/vans done there over the years. Peugeot is his main thing, but he deals in all makes.

George is a gent. They are not the cheapest indy, but very thorough.

You are getting a garage to inspect a car you wish to purchase is it?
I wasnt aware that garages would do this. Do they give you a report?
How do expect them to do any kind of inspection for 30 to 40 euro

Quick test drive, glance around car, throw on ramp maybe and bob's your uncle, that's all they'll be doing. Can't see them doing a compression test or anything though.

In fairness a test drive does tell a good deal and shrewd folks can tell if a car is after a slap or after getting a new wing etc quite easily. It's not the best and safest way but it's a good bit better than nothing.

yes they do more than often. some garages wont but most will. and i dont expect them to do it at all, thats just the price they do it for. bowlers toyota gave my last astra a test drive, put it up on the ramp, looked around the suspension and looked out for anything obvious, told me it needed two front drop links, got the dealer to sort them and bought it. car was perfect but its nice to know for sure. they charged me €25. ryan motor power in clonmel charged €40 for same + diagnostic check
