Am currently researching the purchase of a new bike. I really like Cannondales and would be interested in a CAAD4 Saeco replica (I personally like the earlier paint jobs, without all the wavy graphics). I'm finding it difficult to get exact spec on them, but have managed to get the 2001 Catalogues and a few others. There seem to be a few around on eBay, with the usual problem of getting them shipped and huge disparity in pricing. Can anyone give me some advice on what to look for or how much I should be willing to spend (especially for the Dura-Ace equipped models). I have checked with Cycleways on prices for the current CAAD8 and they seem reasonable, but still out of my league for the better groupsets etc.

About 3 years ago I traded in a beautiful red CAAD5 Saeco for my current Six13 on a kinda frame exchange with Cycleways. I'm kicking myself now for letting it go, I should have paid the extra for the Six13. I always wondered what they did with it as I'd love to buy it back now.

Anyways, speak with Francis in Cycleways asking him about older frames CAAD5 or 4 team frames. They're the only dealer in the Republic so hopefully they can help you out. Otherwise you could phone that place up north, Slane cycles?? can't remember name for sure, but did phone them once about my Six13 and they were super nice.

Thanks for the info Hungrycol. I may just head into them and see what they say. There are a few on Maarktplatz too, so it might be my best source.

The current frame is a Caad 10 the Caad 8 is a few years old now, but the Caad 8,9 & 10 are beautiful frames.

Unfortunately, they are well outside my price range, even on eBay etc.
