WHOSE Queen? She's not MY Queen?

The news/papers/radios full of coverage about 'The Queen' coming to visit Ireland over the next week.

My problem is that, to refer to her as 'The Queen' implies that she's our Queen?

She's certainly not MY Queen, nor is she the Queen of this Island!
I wish folk would start referring to her as The Queen of the UK and Commonwealth!

We always refer to Presidents etc as the President of the particular country they are from, and rarely if ever do they get called simply 'the president'

Isn't it bad enough the countries coming to a standstill over her, without the Irish people almost laying claim to her by referring to her as the Queen!

    Rant over!

She's easily the most famous monarch in the world and rules over a nation closely tied with our own, separated by only a few miles of sea.

Reflects badly on your powers of inference more than anything.
