If I was allowed to listen to only one musical instrument it would be the Hammond Organ, this thread is dedicated the greatest keyboard ever.

This is as good an introduction to the Hammond sound as you can get, working a 60s/70s "rare groove" vibe (actually recorded in 2007)

This is a more laid back example, the Hammond in a supporting role with some nice quick runs and then the solo.

French and funky, slow starting but works up a head of steam.

Thanks for posting the Meters - I taped that track off Donal Dineens show donkeys years ago but didn't know who it was by. A mystery solved.

For me, as soon as I hear the words "Hammond organ", the name Brian Auger always comes to mind. IMO he is one of the elder statesmen on the instrument.
