Can anyone recommend the handiest way next Wednesday - going to the Europa Final.

I have heard train recommendations but is there really a train as late as after 10.30pm back towards Athlone? Would likely be even later between Dart-Luas-Heuston

Or dare i bring the car? Even to park and ride a Dart/Luas?

There is usually a late train for the Ireland games so there might be one for the final .

Unlikely, seeing as most of the people going there aren't Irish.

There do not appear to be any extra trains.

Citylink have a 00:00 departure from Burgh Quay that gets to Athlone for 01:45 - why not try an book that?

Drive to Maynooth and get the train/DART to Pearse/Lansdowne Road.

Same as the Irish team then :)

A few thousand tickets was sold localy so i wouldnt be suprised that if there was an extra train laid on. In which direction is another thing. Just because it hasnt been adverstised yet it doesnt mean it wont be next week.
That city link idea seems to be a good option.

Or maybe Dun Laoghaire/Blackrock, saves changing trains, then straight on to M50.

Just to add that Lansdowne Rd Station will be closed in the lead up to the game so the closest you can get will be Grand Canal Dock or Sandymount (which are both close enough in fairness)

And remember there will be restrictions due to the British Queen's visit as you will have to travel eastwards across the city centre, that means you will not know of exact times of restrictions until the night before your journey.

Herewith the official Garda info on the Europa League Final

And the latest info wrt to the Royal Pain in the Ass for Wednesday

    Wednesday 18 May 2011

Up to 09:00hrs there are no planned traffic restrictions to commuter traffic in Dublin other than the following diversion:

From 08:00hrs traffic management measures will be put in place on the N4/ M50 interchange (Lucan). Traffic travelling towards the city will be diverted North or South along the M50 Motorway to give them options to access the City Centre from the North or South City Routes.
Access to Palmerstown Village and Ballyfermot is via Liffey Valley, Coldcut Road.
Non motorway traffic should divert either as above or at Woodies interchange along the Outer Ring Road.
People should plan their journey along the motorway and identify which junction provides them with the best route to their final destination. Dublin City Council Orbital Route signage will assist.

From 09:00hrs additional traffic restrictions wil be rolled out and continue over the course of Wednesday afternoon and evening in Dublin City Centre. These again will primarily impact on traffic travelling along and across the North and South Quays and in the Phoenix Park.
