Just getting back into swimming lately, but im already on my second pair of goggles in just a few weeks. I cant seem to get a pair that don't leak after a short time of use. Ive had a pair of speedo and a pair of zoogs as well.

Ive done the test by pushing them up to my eye sockets without the head strap and they seem to create a seal for a few seconds before popping off but when I begin to swim with either of them, both leak which forces me to continue to pull the head strap tighter creating the 'panda eyes' effect , also pulling the strap tighter doesen't really resolve the issue either and just ends up causing pain around my eyes and nose.:(

Im doin triathlon so im starting to swim in the sea but ive found this problem happens in both the pool and the sea.

Both pair of goggles are fully plastic including the head strap and i suppose would be considered bulky enough compared to racing goggles.

Any goggle in particular you found really good and would recommended or any suggestions from the swimmers out there would be helpful as im sure ye have gone through the exact same teething problems as me sometime in the past.

    Cheers
    Noeleo

I recently got Speedo Aquasocket mirrored goggles and find them very good. They are designed for racing, I'm currently wearing them in training and have no problems with leakage nor marking. Hope to use them in a few OW races this year, the waves will certainly test them!

goggles fit can differ brand to brand but I have found the Agua sphere brand good. I use both the Seal and Kaiman versions and have had no leakages.

do they feel tight anywhere ?
usual places are the bridge of the nose, corners of the eyes and do you have big bushy eyebrows ?
If the answer to all of the above is no, try some speedo Biofuse pacific, they are pretty good for pool and open water, nice soft seal, pretty durable. and fair price.

I find these Tyr ones excellent: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/tyr-nest-pro-goggles/ (I have the clear model)

One tip that might help with your existing ones: don't put the two straps in the same place on the back of your head. Put one strap high up on your head and the other one lower down, this seems to hold them in place better.
