    There are six engine codes listed on a ford KA, so you need to find out which one is yours.

    JJD
    JJF

    It should be on the VIN plate under the bonnet around the front of the car.

    It seems I have the J4 which surprisingly enough means 60 BHP. :rolleyes: Christ on a bike, but I'd hate to imagine what the 50 BHP is like. :eek:

    Any idea how much working is involved in changing one? I have no intention of doing it myself, just wondering what I should expect to pay a home mechanic to change it for me.

    Not sure on cost, but there's a fair bit of work. Gearbox has to come out to do it.

    Would expect €350 - €400 including the cost of supplying the clutch to be about it.
