hi new to the forum and farming and would like some advice.

i have just bought a house which included a bog. it hasnt been cut for a year or two.

my question is what is the best time to cut it? aslo will be giving it a go by hand and have searched everywhere for a slane.

any ideas where to buy one?

    any tips appreciated.

    thanks

Hated the bog when I was young. Midges, ants, horse flies. Big old pulp bags filled to the brim (cos anything else was a waste..) then carry it uphill to the road.

Have to say I miss it now with all this talk

€40... that's cheap 'gym' membership for the summer :D:D. Help them at home save 10+ hoppers a year. Alot of work. Can only imagine what if had to go cutting it by hand :o:o
