Ruari Quinn more or less, just admitted on the George Hook Radio Show at 17:30, that this state is bankrupt, and all assets and deposites are up for grabs!

I went to the live feed, talking about emigrating to Canada, probably have to get it on podcast afterwards. Not familiar with Newstalk site so if someone can provide a direct link or instructions, I'd appreciate it.

Anyone who had an SSIA should pay an increased rate of income tax for the rest of their life. The SSIA scheme was treason.

How do you make that out? People were only getting money back that they had given to the state through taxes... Also the SSIA was open to everyone there was no excuse for anyone not to have taken it up.

OP, you need to provide a proper source for something like this. It's not enough to repeat what you heard on some radio show many, myself included, might not be familiar with.

Could you provide a link to the recording of this and tell us at what point Quinn says this?

I don't think they go for them directly. But the levy might open the door to retroactively altering previous pension agreements - maybe limit payments to 60,000 a year.

Would be like coating the two 'pillars' in semtex and standing between them for detonation. Won't happen!

oh ffs how does that follow swordofislam?

ssia was an idiotic scheme but it was FF-pd idiotic scheme

Sheesh I had an SSIA. It is now clear that was an exercise in vote buying based on unsustainable transaction taxes in a bubble. We were simply voting ourselves money from the public treasury as Tytler warned in the 18th century. That's treason.

By our selfinterestedness and greed we have blown the boom not them US. We must all pay higher taxes and those who benefited especially from the boom should pay more again.

Further the generation in their late 50s - 60s most affected by this are the worst generation in the history of the state. Treasonous sleeveen swine who benefitted most from the tiger and now expect to make no contribution to saving the country that they broke.

That's treason and it must be called out as such.

Thread not really going anywhere useful, and needs rather more than the OP's interpretation of what he heard.

    moderately,
