There's been a few scares city wide this morning and yesterday.

Even in Glasnevin/Ballymun where I am, you can hear tons of sirens in the distance.

    Something's going doooooown!!

Could be to do with next weeks visits I say.

There's been a 'security alert' nearly every day for the last couple of weeks. Pretty annoying.

I saw something very suspicious looking on the boardwalk this morning - a guy not wearing unpleasant polyester sports-wear.

I don't think is is viable... I reckon the Garda/Bomb Squad are rehearsing so to speak... Beside I work behind O'connell Street and can't see too much going down. Though if that changes I'll post it up here.

There's stupid posters all over the city opposing the Queen's visit (with horribly misspelled Irish on most of them) Do people actually think they'll get anywhere near Lizzie or are they just trying to look like hardmen? As if she gives a toss that a gang of scummers don't like her!

dont know what they are trying to achieve,if one of these things go off,its only irish people that will be killed, mind you their leader did say, quote; he would burn dublin into the ground.

Probably just training for the unlikely terrorist attack on betty

They're searching every nook and cranny in the city, including lifting manhole covers and welding them shut.

I imagine these security alerts are the Gardai search teams finding "suspicious devices" that have been there for years, just no-one ever saw them before.

With all the extra work the bomb squad is getting and will be getting, they should really kit them out with a couple of helicopters.

I know someone is going to say "We cant afford it", but seriously, I am sure the money can be found somewhere.

Getting that robot across town(Dublin) in rush hour traffic must be a nightmare. Not to mention the time it would take to get it to the airport or to another county.

With the number of bomb scares happening at the moment, it's easy for people to get complacent about suspicious devices. EOD(bomb squad) need to be there as soon as possible.

That pic shows Amien Street, thought the bomb scare was on O Connell Street?

The only way anyone will get near the queen is with a bomb. They will not be able to do anything to her without killing and injuring Irish citizens and security personnel and losing all their southern support in the process. This is all pointless showing off by the dissidents.

What the hell, I'm in my office at the top of O'Connell St. (bridge end) and have noticed nothing!
All I need is a excuse to go home for the day :D

People are more than likely planting these to check out the response times of the secruity forces.

It's a bomb scare at Connolly Station, not O'Connell Street...

Trains from Belfast are leaving their passengers off at Howth Junction with no connecting Dart to town! Mad

Edit - Sorry, they're getting a bus transfer!

No it won't. It will go ahead, loads of people will be arrested for acting the dickhead in different locations, and she'll leave without a bother. Then Indymedia will post all the "Garda brutality" videos, we'll debate them for a week on after hours and Joe Duffy, and the go back to our regular lives.

Amien street reopened. Bomb squad took the "suspicious device away". They had the remote control bomb disposal tractor out to play.

Hah, the bomb scare at Guinness was caused by a bubble-wrapped photograph of a colleague which'd fallen unnoticed behind the radar.

With all these false alarms... if you saw a backpack or the like dropped at the side of the road, would you report it?

People are just getting ruffled by her Queenliness coming.... and suddenly the usual Dublin detritus has become a lethal threat. A week ago, it would've just been rubbish not worth bothering over.
