    Hi,
Just looking for information on whether it's possible to use steel when converting timber frame house attic?

My father did the attic in his house which is block built, using RSJ's. He can do the rest if there are people who can install the steel. My house is a 3-bed semi, if that's any use.

Information on net and Boards, is scarce.

    Thanks,

    Kev.

That's very specific and can't be answered here. You need on-site guidance from a structural engineer.

Certainly your first step is to get a structural Engineer involved. Assuming you have a trussed roof, it will be an expensive job to do as significant reinforcement of the entire roof structure will be needed.
