Hey im a 23 yr old law graduate looking to head to australia to get some work in their legal sector. i want to get experience of working in a law firm over there for a year or two so ill be in a better chance to get a job here when i come back.

USIT have a work travel visa for under 30s to Australia. however it seems aimed at people who are looking for casual employment with alot of travel. theres also a restriction whereby you can only work with one employer for a maximum of 6 months. im not sure if that would be too appealing to a graduate employer. does anyone know any graduates who went on that particular visa and got graduate work??

USIT just charge an arm and a leg for the Visa you can buy online in 10 minutes.. No point in wasting your money. Same with their overpriced insurance.
And don't worry about the 6 months thing. If it's a job like the one you're after, the company will have to sponsor you.. There's no other way of staying longer.

cheers for that i didnt realise they could sponsor you in your first year there, that makes sense alright. i checked out that website. however, the skilled migrant visas takes like 2 years to process so i think ill have to stick with the work/holiday visa. thanks for the help.

I think the skilled migrant visa is different to a sponsor.. My brother got sponsored within 2 months and now has citizenship a few years later.

Check it out on google maybe in case I'm right. You only get one working holiday visa so make sure to do it right.

yes they are different. ive heard a skilled migrant visa takes the guts of two years to process!!! i will have to go on a work/holiday visa as i am not listed in any of the professions in the 'skilled migrant' list
