He's off to London in the summer, according to his mother:

    http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/89899.html
The mother of Real Madrid midfielder Kaka has opened up debate over her son's future, by claiming on her Twitter account that they will be in London in August.

Kaka has slipped down the pecking order in Madrid following a £59 million transfer in the summer of 2009 and has been constantly linked with a reunion with former AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea.

His mother, Simone Leite, has increased speculation that a deal has already been done after she wrote on her Twitter account: ''We are going to be in London next season where we will be preaching the word of God. We will be there from August - I can tell you.''

Kaka, a devoted Catholic, brought his family with him to Europe when he moved to AC Milan eight years ago and, with Madrid signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin, rumours are that his days in the Spanish capital are numbered.

That would suggest Chelsea to me as I can't see Arsenal or Tottenham spending the sort of money it would take to get him. I do suspect Manchester City will make an attempt to get him too though.

He has suffered from injuries a lot and has played less than 40 games in two seasons since moving to Madrid. He also didn't have too good a season the year after winning the Ballon D'Or (probably after having his head turned in January).

A few questions - What do you all think of Kaka then? How much do you think it would cost to sign him? Do you think he'd have an impact in the Premier League? Do you think he's finished as a top level player which has been suggested a lot?

If he could get over his injury problems he'd be a very good signing IMO but for the price Madrid would be looking for him I'm not so sure he'd be worth the risk, also, there's better players out there for the same sort of money IMO.

It certainly would be interesting to see how things would pan out if he was to join the Premier League though.

    Sounds like a Chelsea signing.

Dont think he will have much impact, he's been poor for years. If Arsenal sold Fabregas, though he wouldnt be the worst replacement.

Another Brazilian past his sell-by date. I predict a miserable season and a half with Chelsea and a return to São Paulo.

It wouldn't surprise me if he left Madrid, their midfield options are crazy and Ozil is first choice in his position. He could do well at Chelsea, their midfield needs some creativity.

    Kaka + Lampard = Ballack + Lampard =

Wonderful player, still has plenty to offer. Wouldn't surprise me to see him end up at Chelsea, particularly if Ancelotti is still around.

He'll be on his way, the signing of Sahin has pretty much confirmed this.

He won't go to Chelsea if Ancelotti leaves.

Can see him going to city.

Great player, hopefully he doesn't go the way of Ronaldinho

The last thing we need is another big money flop, though I was always a huge fan of Kaka and think it's a real shame he hasn't done better at Madrid.

On the bright side, if it is Chelsea, then that could well show that Roman is sticking with Carlo for at least another season which would be great news for us.

Ya never know, it could be QPR:pac:

I reckon Citeh will go for him now with them being in the CL... Hel obviously be way overpriced too and will flop similar to when Veron went to United... thats the path his career has been going lately

He's only 29 and given the type of player that he is he has a few years left at the top. He has been plagued by injury at Madrid but he has shown glimpses of his former self. Many players hit with injuries struggle to make an impact shortly after returning from injury with the exception of Van Persie who is just a freak + he's had more practice at coming back from injury than most!

I reckon he will be going to Chelsea. While they have options in midfield already it would be the big money club thing to do to buy Kaka. If Drogba goes in the summer Kaka will provide another attacking option.

People will write him off due to him being quiet at Madrid but as you said he's only played 40 odd games over the course of 2 full seasons where Madrid play 50+ games and his record isn't exactly bad. When he gets back to full fitness then he will be a decent player and he has what it takes to make it in the premier league. He was world footballer of the year for a reason and he strikes me as being more dedicated than the brazil fatties like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Adriano who like to take on the celebrity lifestyle that comes with football.

I'd love to see him play in that Chelsea team tbh. They would be exciting to watch and fat Frank isn't going to be around forever either. Like Giggs/Scholes, Lampard won't be able to cope with a long season without being rested. Kaka can play Lampard's role well. Strength and depth is something Chelsea lacked at times this season which is why United won the league because they have strength and depth which is what is required to win the league.

To estimate a price I'd say he could still go for £30million. I don't know how long he has left on his contract but I'd imagine he has a couple of years left.

Why are people saying he would play in Lampard's spot?

He would take Anelka's place in a front three and it would suit him perfectly. Would be great for Torres also.

Sigh, Kaka and Torres. I reckon Abramovich's been playing a bit too much FIFA 09

Come on, his mother? How would she know in all honesty? She would only know in the slight possibility if it was 100% done, and it would have been announced. Plus would Real Madrid and Chelsea allow her to speak?

BTW, Kaká hasn't been tripe, he has been hit by injuries but has been good when playing. He has gotten 16 goals in 51 games, just under 1 in every 3. At Milan he got 95 in 270. 15 in 37 in La Liga, 70 in 193 in Serie A. People who saw he is crap don't have a clue, if he stays injury free next season it will be a big one for him.

Imagine if it was Arsenal! :O
    Wenger spending money! :O

any way, if he goes to Chelsea, which I believe he will, and can remain injury free. He will go a long way to solving Chelsea's creative problems. Essien - Lampard - Remires - Kaka is a strong mid-field.

Or playing Kaka upfront along side Torres could be nice :D

as for how much will he cost any thing between 25-38m depending on how Madrid are feeling.

I'd much rather Canales at Chelsea then Kaka TBH. Canales would be one for the future too.

Thats 4 central midfielders. I think we have seen enough this season to know width is the answer.

Will Lukaku not be taking Anelka's place?

I'd be more inclined to think Sturridge will take that spot.

Ramires played on the wing for Benfica and for Brazil, I always thought it was wierd where Ancelotti played him.

    LOL! :D

If you actually read the twitter posts she put up, she was on about a priest ( or another member of the Church ) and saying how she will visit him in London in August!!

Not a mention of football in them.

Surely frank is wide enough to cover that.

Kaka played his best under ancellotti so it wouldn't surprise me.

Kaka was an outstanding player at Milan and maybe people are doubting him because it has been a while since he showed his best form. If he can sustain his fitness I think he will be a quality signing for whoever gets him. Likely club I believe is Chelsea.

I'd imagine his mother is far more likely to know were he'll be than a lot of journalists, or you or me. Hazarding a guess, wild and all a concept as this is, I'd imagine she might know as he perhaps told her? After all, his family left Brazil to be with him, his moving to London and their staying in Madrid might defy the point.

Certainly seems plausible given José seems to favour Ozil and they just bought Sahin. Not saying it will happen, but not the craziest story I've heard all day.

    She didn't announce which club.

Maybe they didn't think she'd say anything?
