My son is just finished a one year PLC course for which he received a grant. He hopes to progress and do a 3 degree course starting in September, will he need to apply for the grant again. Thanks

with the maintenance grant you have to apply each year regardless.

so yes he will have to apply for this year, the start of his 3yr degree, but even next yr he will have to apply. that is the way they are set up. that you must re-apply every year. if his circumstances haven't changed between years, he could get approved quicker as he is a repeat claimant but he must reclaim.
