Fitness to Work Assessment

I had surgery on my elbow and was then sent to the Occupational Health Specialist 4 Teachers.

They said i was unfit until I would be reviewed again by my treating specialist and discharged by him. :(
They wrote to my orthopedic surgeon and have asked for his opinion on my "fitness to return to a position where she may be required to carry heavy object"

I am due to see the orthopedic consultant in two weeks.

My worry is that i don't want to be declared fit for heavy lifting by him - I need to avoid heavy lifting! At the same time I dont want to be deemed unfit for work.
I am really stuck as to what to do. Does anybody have advice on how i can be deemed fit for work except for heavy lifting?

    Thanks

Ask the doc to issue a conditional declaration? Get the students to help with the lifting :D

Thanks Mr B that seems sensible - a conditional cert! It doesn't have to be all or nothing - fit to teach, help with heavy lifting:cool:
