LOS ANGELES -- Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver, announced Monday that they are separating.

The statement, issued by a spokesman for Schwarzenegger, said the two were working on the future of their relationship while living apart and they would continue to parent their four children together.

We're told Maria moved out of the couple's L.A. mansion months ago. Sources tell us she's been extremely unhappy in her marriage for years, complaining about Arnold's out of control ego, as well as his womanizing.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has admitted that he fathered a child more than ten years ago with a long-term member of his household staff.
In a statement sent to The Los Angeles Times today, Schwarzenegger said: "After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago.
"I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.

"I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time. While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not."
The former Governor of California made the confession just a week after he and wife Maria Shriver announced their separation after 25 years of marriage.
Reports say that Shriver decided to move out of their Brentwood mansion earlier this year after discovering the news.
The Times did not publish the former staffer's name but said that the woman worked for the family for 20 years and retired in January.
Representatives for both Schwarzenegger and Shriver have declined to make any further comments.

Arnold is infamous for his roaming hands....She's just separating from him to save face...Marriage was effectively over a long long time ago. Maybe just maybe it was the only extra marital kid, but there's no way there weren't more women.

Apparently he's taking some time away from the public spotlight. 'to reflect on what he's done' or something....so his various projects are on hold.

I'm assuming this won't be long......nobody should really be surprised at these 'revelations'

They were born within a few days of eachother apparently.

Gawker did an article about lots of his other scandals - gay porn, smoking dope, group sex... a love child really isn't that surprising in that context :pac:

Well, I read that he went after the more unattractive females on purpose thinking that they would worship him and do anything for him;)
