    Can anyone advise me of a good data usage app for android so i can monitor my data usage over the month.

    i use 3g watchdog pro. there's a free version too.

    +1 on the 3G Watchdog, i use the free version and it does exactly what i need it to

    I used to use Phone Usage and found it to be fairly accurate but it got very slow to load recently so I got rid of it and replaced it with Call Meter NG which is much better and smoother.

    Another guy worth a look at is ZDBox.
    It's one app that replaces a load of other apps like
    Battery guage - if you have one
    Apps2SD monitor
    2G/3G watcher - tells you how much network data your apps are using and has settings like 3G Watchdog for setting your quota / dates etc.
    Task Killer - That you don't really need
    Batch uninstaller.
