Can anyone tell me where I can read official/legal rules on Airsoft in Ireland. I need to figure out the legality of something. Thanks

    Thanks,

Looks like I need to be a lawyer to understand that. Is there anything more up to date and easier to read. Like a 2011 Airsoft legalities bullet point list? Everything I find around here seems to be out of date.

Out of date how? The law that made airsoft legal was implemented in 2006, they dont update laws on an annual basis.

There have been changes made to that law but they have not as yet been implemented.

Try asking if something is legal or not.....

I wasn't referring to the law being out of date but the information on it.
What do you mean by not implemented?
Is there a clear list of the 2009 changes that apply to Airsoft specifically?

What's the current status on importing AEGs?

You have to understand that as you guys have been in the scene since the changes you know what's what, I have not. I left Ireland soon after the law changed and am not familiar with the current status of things and I'm finding it very hard to find the current status.

And also please understand that when it comes to the legal side of things I'm not willing to just take someones word on Boards that it's law. Have the IAA not got a current what's what on Airsoft as it stands today from a legal point of view.

    Thanks

Current status is that you can, but they have to be under the Joule when they get here, because if they're taken for testing and found to be over then they're destroyed and you're out of pocket.

    Ok thanks for the info.

So my situation is this. I now live in the UK and want to bring my AEGs over which is fine, I just need to post them. I should have the receipts to prove they are not new, so unnecessary customs charges can be avoided.

Now my concern is this: If I decide to move back to Ireland will the import ban (when implemented) prevent me from bringing my AEGs back? What counts as importing? Is it only purchasing? Will I be alright posting my stuff back from the UK? How can I prove that I already own it?

Thanks for answering my questions guys!!!

you could bring them back to ireland on the boat.
me and a few lads travelled to the mall last year, and brought them on the boat with us.
They were in the car, we made sure to let them know what they were, and that we would have them, a good bit before the trip.

they were fine with it, and we had no problems.
