Hey guys this is a type of market i am looking to get better at picking winners in. Although theres no foolproof way of picking a winner what sort of factors do you take into consideration when deciding over/under in a game?

I usually look at previous h2h results to see if theres any sort of pattern developing, only problem there is teams etc change players from year to year so conditions are different.

Have had a lot of success in this market over the years, it's a personal favourite. Apart from the head to head you mention, factors such as home and away goals scored and conceded should come into play. How many goals each team averages in their games this season etc... Motivation is also a massive factor as if one team has to go for it, it usually allows for a very open and expansive game. Form and previous player records should be taken into account along with key defensive and attacking injuries/suspensions.

Was thinking about average goals like you mentioned there, maybe over a period of 4-5 games for both teams as an indicator to goals being scored.

This thread is well worth a look from Goonersguide.com

The OP has given up for this season as things go a bit mental goal wise towards the end of each league but he usually starts it again at the start of each season.

that would be the starting point but i thing you should mostly consider , type of opponents and type of game

example last night nottingham swansea, both teams won the last few games and scored almost always more than 2.5, but swansea has one of the best defenses of the championship and considerin it was a playoff there was a good chance neither team was goin to risk too much

    final result 0-0

As Derek was saying you cant really argue with them results! If you can narrow down some stats/averages you can make it work, alongside with your own judgement on a football match.

Fk Fk Fk . . Come on spurs . .

    I did a 5 game bet on 2.5 goals plus -

Man Utd v Blackpoo - Currently 4 goals
Fulham v Arsenal Currently 3 goals
Newcastle v West Brom -Currently 4 goals
    Wolves v Blackburn - Currently 3 goals

    And to my disgust -

    Spurs v Birmingham - Currently just 1 poxy goal . .

    Odds of 17-1.

Screw you spurs . . I should of known not to bet on them as they nearly always let me down ! !

This is and always has been my most profitable market in the football. I wrote an article a while back underlining factors I take into account. Here is the article for anyone interested. I trade this market now myself but just backing can give a very good ROI if you know what to look for.

Any thoughts for the internationals coming up or leagues that may be worth going over/under in during the summer?

How i miss the football season! :(
