Topping up on spf?

Hi Ladies, Just wondering how you all top up on spf during the day? I use powder compact that has an spf to top up every 3 hours or so but sometimes when my skin is dryer than normal or if i haven't exfoliated it doesn't look great come evening. So any other suggestions? Thanks!
