Right so I have a problem, I was asked today in an exam,
Explain all the factors which influence glomerular filtration pressures?

But I actually had no idea :o:confused:

Does anyone know? I didn't really fancy asking my lecturer considering I was supposed to know it for the exam :o

    All help would be appreciated!

Well, if you think about how the glomerulus is set up, it shouldn't be too hard to figure some of them out.

The glomerular membrane provides some resistance and increases the pressure needed to force fluid across it.
The blood pressure provides some force to push the fluid through the glomerulus.
The change in vessels size from afferent to efferent changes pressure (like how narrowing a pipe increases the pressure coz of reduced crosssectional area).
The renin-angiotensin pathway controls the blood pressure and is influenced by the kidney.

Don't remember what else contributes off the top of my head.
