firstly i would say dont do it . it will be quite messy.
however if you are doing it i would advise using car paints
1 start by masking what ever you dont want paint on.
    2. i presume the helmet is a hard gloss plastic. if you put paint on that directly it will flake off over time. start with an aerosal of plastic primer its what is used on new plastic bumpers( this should be clear and cost about 5-8 euro)
3 with that done you can go to a motor factors that mixs paint and pretty much pick any colour you want and they should be able to put that in an aerosal for you ( cost 15-25 euro depending on where u go)
take your time use a hair dryer to help the paint dry
4 now that the colour is on you can get a clear coat (varnish) again in a spray can (ask for a good can will cost 10-20) .
like i advise it will be messy if your not use to these paints its tricky to use them read the tins of clear coat carefully
