Fabio Capello stated he needed only 100 words to talk to players. Dan Cottrell set out to make a similar list and got to 106. Has he left anything out?

If anything this is a very good A - Z of Rugby...
    Dan's list wrote:
Advantage, Backs, Back Play, Ball, Bind, Blind Side, Blitz, Box Kick, Centre, Charge Down, Chip, Clean Out, Clearance, Communication, Concentrate, Conditioning, Contact, Conversion, Cool Down, Corner flagging, Crash Ball, Dead Ball, Decision Making, Decoy, Defensive Line, Development, Drift, Drive, Drop Goal, Drop Out, Dummy, Engage, Fast Hands, First Phase, Five Metre, Fix, Flankers, Flat Pass, Fly Half, Footwork, Forward Pass, Forwards, Foul Play, Free Kick, Fringes, Front Row, Gain Line, Game Plan, Game Sense, Gate, Go Forward, Grid, Grubber, Handoff, Hooker, Inside Centre, Jackle, Jumper, Kick, Knock-On, Laws, Lifter, Lineout, Line Speed, Lock, Loose Head Prop, Mark, Maul, Miss, No 8, Offside, Open Side, Outside Centre, Overlap, Pass, Peel, Penalty, Phase Play, Punt, Quick Ball, Recycling, Restart, Ruck, Scrum, Scrum Half, Seal, Second Phase, Set Piece, Set Play, Sevens, Side Step, Skill, Slow Ball, Spin Pass, Support, Switch, Tackle, Technique, Tight Head Prop, Touch, Try, Turnover, Warm-Up, Wheel, Wing,Yellow Card.

    Here's some I think he's left out:

High Tackle, Not straight, Red card, Dissent, Pillar, Bobby, Lazy runner (although this not an official term), Double movment (again not an official term), Sacking, Release, Third man, Tackler, Ball carrier, Last play, Full back, Ten metre, Uncontested, Crouch-Touch-Pass-Engage, ...

    Anything else?

    Commitment.

No point in doing anything on the pitch without it.

The lad who tries to rip the ball.

I've never heard that one before. I reckon it should be called a rackle - y'know a rip-tackle.

    :-)

Jackle is the verb. Jackler is the noun.

Our junior cup coach in school got by for three years with two words.

    "Body Position"

Quite important but I think he emphasised it because he hadn't much else to say.

Although one day I played full back and got special positional advice before the match of "just kick it to touch"

Always thought it was jackal myself. That's interesting.

    No?

Geniuinely did always think it was jackal! As in the scavenger animal (i.e. back row scavenging for possession). Always thought that was why it was called that. Never even knew the word jackle existed. (Can't find any evidence of the word jackle online either  )

Alright. The spelling was not something I was thinking about and I thought you were extracting.
