Club Nintendo no longer deliver to Ireland

So it seems that as of April 1st, Club Nintendo will no longer deliver physical items to Ireland. If you compare the terms and conditions at:

    http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/service/terms_and_conditions.html

you can see they changed from

Nintendo will only ship an Offline Prize to an address in the United Kingdom or Ireland.

    to

Nintendo will only ship physical Premiums of the Stars Catalogue to addresses in the United Kingdom.

which is a bit crap really. I know it took months for them to deliver in the past, but I was looking forward to the snes classic controller :(

If you try and order from the club nintendo website, it doesn't actually mention this though. It just keeps complaining that the postcode is invalid, even if you put in legitimate UK post codes. I guess you can still use your stars for wii points though, so there is some benefit to them still.

That sucks donkey b*lls... But I got an email from them the other day about you having to accept terms before May 31st or else all your stars would be un-useable.. So in order words now, why the f*ck would they give us stars with games etc..?? It all seems pointless to me?

Thats terrible. I have a good few stars at the moment. Was hoping for that Wii SNES controller at some point.

There are ways around this, I remember a few years back on the bargain alerts forum that to order stuff that was only being delivered to the UK thy put down their Irish address but with the postcode of the main post office in Belfast, Northern Ireland and they used to just forward it on to the Irish address free of charge.

Something like BTA1...something, sure it can't be hard to find.

Really annoyed with the Club Nintendo store at the moment and this makes it worse. I recently decided to cash in a few of my stars from games I bought but I can only register a few codes. Most don't work and if I try to put codes in multiple times it blocks you from entering anymore codes. It says that games over 3 and a half years old won't work but it doesn't explain whymy dragon quest 9 code along with other very recent games just plain won't work. It'sthe most useless service ever.

No way, I've got almost 5000 stars and was hoping to get that classic snes controller! They better let us use these points to get stuff on the 3DS eshop.

Nintendo have always seemed to treat Ireland as a second class "add-on" to the UK. Shabby as usual from them.

I just got something like 5000 points doing surveys for VC games.
Pity I won't be able to use them.

I hope they stock 3ds cash cards.

    *500, not 5000

    You can get wii points.

Em I ordered something off them last week guys.

I had the problem of it not accepting a postcode or a fake postcode as we usually have to do with these things.

Anyways I emailed them and was like whats up with the lack of me beingable to order things?

And they said just enter in a wrong postcode and then when it sayd thats wrong untick a box that says auto-check address (or something like that) and then order awaywith no postcode

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,610 ✭✭✭Nollog

    And that worked?

The thing is though, it mentions Ireland later on in the new T&Cs. So it could be an oversight? Or it could signal the withdrawal of something else instead?

In any case, I emailed them asking them last sunday to clarify why it was removed and what it meant.

    Correction:

It seems they've changed the new T&Cs. They must've gotten emails about it :P

Ireland is now on both the old and new

Sweet! That actually worked! I used the Belfast post office code (BT1 1AA), that address check came up, removed the area code, and I was able to order. Now it will be dispatched out in a mere 8 weeks or so, but at least it's gone through.

It's still a bit pants that they insist on UK area codes but at least there's some sort of a work-around.

It still said just UK when I looked there. Not too worried though, now that I'm actually able to order.

They didn't change the shipment bit, you're right. But the first line previously didn't include Ireland (I know because I copied and pasted it into my email which I can still see)

So that obviously was an oversight on their part. Doesn't seem a stretch the shipment part might be too. Especially because the first line was the only bit I singled out in my email.

Well if my hanafuda cards arrive ill know for sure. :)

    That is shockin'!

Not to mention that I've literally just decided to finally try sort out my stars (tried about 2 years ago and couldn't get the website to add any stars to my account even after registration) and today I've had hours of trouble. God awful website that fails to load every second page and then basically brings you back to the beginning of the registration after filling out the same goddamn survey every time!

    Sorry, rant over.

Trying to order the mario playing cards, keeps saying postal code is invalid. Have tried BT1 and BTA1, what did you guys enter?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,485 ✭✭✭Berns

Try BT1 1AA , They always use that in Bargin alerts forum:p

Tried that and got the following "The address you have entered could not be found in the automated address check system. If you feel the system is in error, please turn off the address check functionality and resubmit. Otherwise, please correct your address." If I turn it off, they take my points and don't deliver the cards I'll be super pissed.

That's all you have to do!

My Golden Wii controller arrived yesterday, so just over a month for it to arrive. That's five months quicker than last time :D

So I guess the thread title is no longer accurate any more, is there a way to edit it?

Did you input an Irish address?

A mod might be able to edit it.

I'm pretty sure I rememeber ticking the box and THEN putting in my address as it removes the need to enter a postal code.
