Rumours abounding on the twitosphere that Vermaelen may start today. Whether it's at left back to replace Clichy or in the middle at the expense of one of Djourou/Koscielny I've no idea though.

Certainly no love lost between the clubs and considering 56% of the goals we've conceded this season have been from set pieces I can see this being a long afternoon. Shutting down Pennant will be key.

    I'm gonna go with 2-2.

I think now that there's nothing left to play for we'll see a professional win from Arsenal.

I see 3-1 for Arsenal. RvP x 2, Arshavin and Huth

I think Vermaelen at LB would be better for the team today. You don't want to upset a CB partnership at a place like Stoke and another CB to deal with set-pieces would be a great asset. Going to go for a not so comfortable Arsenal win. Reckon Sszseney (sp?) will deal very well with crosses, excellent keeper from what I've seen and also very strong (that hit he took from Bale without even getting winded was ridiculous!).

Arsenal team: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Djourou, Gibbs, Song, Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott, Arshavin, Van Persie

Subs: Lehmann, Vermaelen, Rosicky, Squillaci, Eboue, Chamakh, Bendtner.

So Clichy is out but Djourou starts with TV on the bench.

Gibbs to go off injured around 40 min mark and TV to replace

Yeah but singling him out because he had the nerve to have his leg broken. Come on.

Yeah but singling him out because he had the nerve to have his leg broken. Come on.

I've heard booing for many players, no singling out.

Is it Lou Macari co-commentating on Sky?

Whoever it is is the most biased fuck I've come across in a while.

    Wanker.

    Stoke fans booing Ramsey:rolleyes:

A horrible club with horrible fans, a horrible manager and horrible style of play. I can't wait for the day they go back to where they belong.

    + 1000 to that.

Cannot wait for the day they go down.

I can't believe the amount of apologists Stoke have. They have been booing other players too but it was noticeably louder when Ramsey had the ball. The commentators even mentioned it.

The Stoke fans I met where ok. What was your experience when you met them?

Was it because he broke his leg or because he refused to accept Shawcross' apology after a horrific accident that they are booing?

about the same as when he met the manager and players presumably...

Even when they stopped trying to start fights with women and children they didn't seem likeable.

He's under no obligation to take any apology. Booing him for anything out of that incident is disgraceful tbh.

fyi Ramsey hasn't ever said anything about Shawcross or Stoke arising out of that incident.

So you have to meet every one of them to have an opinion on them?

So now yo acknowledge their booing?

Ramsey had every right to concentrate on his rehabilitation. The amount of people trying to make out as if Shawcross was somehow the victim is disgraceful.

The manager moans more than every Premier League manager rolled into one, goes around head butting and fighting his own players, and has no respect for anyone but himself.

As for players, Jones is a very nice man and Collins and Whitehead are ****'s. However, I didn't mention anything about the players, just their style of play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,602 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

    Stylish as you like :D

Terrible defending. Van Persie completely missed his header.

Gibbs ducking under the ball, great defensive trait to have.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,571 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

    RVP misses header
Gibbs ducks out of the way of the ball
Djourou just lets Jones wander off

    Pathetic.

I actually like Pulis, seems very no nonsense and very respectful to most of the bigger name managers except Wenger for obvious reasons.

I think Jones was surprised that go to him tbh. He knee/thigh/stomach'd it in.

You're right, he has his head up Ferguson's arse alright. Recalling his players from Preston when Darren Ferguson got sacked just because Alex did the same was pathetic.

I never denied their booing, but its to every player. I know he didn't say anything about Shawcross arising out of the incident. I am not making Shawcross to be the victim. What ye need to understand is that it was a genuine accident. Shawcross offered an apology for an accident, which could easily have been accepted quickly and everything moves on. For some reason Ramsey didn't accept it.

Ramsey was the victim of a horrible accident, Shawcross then had his reputation shot to pieces primarily by Wenger but not helped by Ramsey refusing to accept his apology.

Hughes snubbed Pulis in similar fashion when Stoke won here in the Carling Cup in September and the Potters boss tried to play down their spat.

so him doing what Hughes did to him is wrong? Where's all the Hughes hate then?

Didn't notice any increase in booing and whistling at Ramsey?

Also Shawcross brought on his rep himself.

Wilshire is top class. Could see him moving on in the summer if a big money offer came in

What it does show is that he is a hypocrite
Stoke boss Pulis, whose side face Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, said: "Arsene Wenger has made a decision not to shake Mark Hughes' hand, whether that is right or wrong you'd have to ask him.

"But personally, whether I like or dislike someone, you have a responsibility to show the right spirit of the game.

I heard it loudest when an arsenal CB had tbh.

Yeah, a rep of a tough tackler, not someone going out to break somebodys leg and possibly end their career.

" Huth there it is " similar to what you hear at concerts is a fantastic chant. :D
