Hi There probably is another post on this forum but i cant for the life of me find it :(

Does anyone know say the 50 most frequently asked questions the Driving tester would ask when you are doing your full test?

Any help would be great I have my test next week but i dont really know what I should be revising from the Rules of the road book besides the Traffic Signs? :D

In all the tests I have done (and I'm about to sit my 6th!! - all in good old Raheny) they asked me what the empty red circle sign stood for (pedestrian zone) and the speed limit on the motorways (120kph) and the sequence of lights. The level crossing came up a fair bit too along with when you can enter a yellow box and when you can overtake on the left.

I was only once asked a stopping distance.

Best of luck with your test and fair play for sticking with it!

    "Thread" depth?

That reminds me OP, I got asked how to measure the tread depth as well as being asked what the minimum was.

€2 coin. :pac: (dont actually say that....:))

You can measure it with a thread depth gauge. & there are markers in the tyre grooves also. As for the offical driving test answer, wouldnt be certain, but id hazard its with the gauge.

A tyre guage would be ideal and more accurate. The basic way is to find one of the bumps down in the main grooves. If the surface of the tyre has worn down so it is level with that bump, it is time to get them replaced.

What the tester is looking for here is the statment of how you would check your tyre.

See the video "How to do the tyre checks" http://www.drivingtesttips.ie/Irish-Driving-Test-Video-Tutorials.php
