    Hi all

I have a friend who may be able to get me an ipad 2 in nevada.

I am considering the 3G version just to have it as an option. Initially I will try tethering via my iphone 4.

Tethering aside. Does it matter if it is a Verizon or at&t bought 3G version.
More importantly will the 3G work over here?

I guess it will as it is just a built in modem right?

    Thanks all

    John

The Verizon models will NOT work in Europe, they don't take a SIMM and are totally locked in to Verizon. I belive the AT & T model will work here.

If you're going to tether it via the iPhone, why don't you buy the Wi-Fi iPad and connect using the hotspot facility in the iPhone?

That is my intention to use the iphone to tether via the hotspot option.

I have mixed reports from o2 saying I cant use my current data allowance to tech folks telling me I can but whatever i'll sort something out im sure.

    Thanks

With O2 you cannot use your existing allowance, you must buy the tethering add-on.....

I have a HTC Desire on O2, when I activate the Wi-Fi hotspot function I can connect my iTouch to the Internet via the phone and it comes out of my monthly data allowance, I do not have a tethering add-on.
