alright lads, short question. i just had my vec grant accepted 2 weeks ago and as far as i know they paid my registration fee and now i'm just waiting for the money that i am entitled to to get backdated and put into my bank account by my college.

the thing is i have missed a lot of college in semester 2 as the finance office in my college blocked my college account(everything including pc/email/library access etc) until I got my grant even though I gave them a letter from the grant office to say that i was waiting on it. as far as i know students only receive their grant money if their attendance is high throughout the year. does anyone have any idea if i will receive any of this money even though my attendance was pretty low in semester 2? even though i made an effort with the lecturers to do 100% of the exams

    thanks in advance!

Imo it's unlikely they'd withold the money, though not impossible. Is attendance taken at your classes 100% of the time? As the college is the one who acted harshly on the problem the VEC essentially caused, they might not be the first to go shouting to the VEC that your attendance hasn't been up to scratch.

thanks for the reply mate. yea the attendance is taken in 90% of lectures and labs. i actually had an e-mail from the finance department in my college last week saying they sent off for my attendance record to my school department and once that comes through the money should be put into my account so that's what is worrying me slightly. i'll just have to wait and see i quess :(
