Car Insurance Excess -When?

    So I currently have my car in for crash repairs following an accident. I have a €500 excess on my policy, does anyone know when I pay this or to who?

    Liability hasnt been agreed between insurers yet.

    if you claim against your insurance you have to pay the first €500

    Yea I know that.

    I mean when do I pay the excess?

    When I pick my repaired car up?
    Pay the garage?
    Pay my insurance company?

    You'll pay the garage when you pick it up.

    The insurance co. deduct it from your claim cheque.
