A resident near Louisville Kentucky has saved his Porsche 911 from a flood caused by a rapid flowing river. It appears as though the Porsche owner fastened his yellow 964 to an inflatable cushion, and then tied it to his house to save it from being washed away by the flood.

The home was in close proximity to the Ohio River which flooded this April. It is unclear whether the 964 is a Porsche America Roadster (250 produced) or a C2 Turbo-look roadster. Regardless of what model it is, this car obviously holds enough sentimental value to be made its own life raft and Porsche’s slogan holds true in this case. “Porsche…There is no substitute”.

Question is, is it something you would get if you lived in a flood prone location?

Depending on the cost of the thing, it could save you a whole heap of money and personal anguish!

    I'd definitely go for it.

    Thoughts?

I'd go for a davit on the balcony myself.

Maybe a nice flag on the turrets.

Ye, seems like a no brainer if you live in a flood plain, good idea.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Must be some serious strength in that inflatable. Little motor on the back and you've your own little ferry service :)

Also, look at that house. You'd struggle to make something like it in The Sims. The position of the tree and the steps. The shape and glass. This isn't some Joe Soap, obviously. I'd say this inflatable is pretty expensive and for the average person it's probably better to just not leave valuables in the car and let it go swimming.

The house seems to be designed with the flooding in mind, he should just build a ramp and have a 2nd storey garage.

Just park it on a large flat bottomed boat or a floating slab. Don't have worried about inflation or punctures.
