Any special reason why you want 26" wheels? I have a practically never used 18" Dawes Discovery 201 Ladies but it has 700c wheels. Very nice bike in as-new condition - only used for 2 short touring holidays (only rained once:)).

    hi paul

allegedly the sizing for ladies bikes! how much you looking for? she has a fairly specific budget

They retail at €375 or €409 for equipped version. Thinking around €200-225. I could include a rack and mudguards for €25 extra if you need them.

26 inch wheels are for mountain bikes, 700c wheels are for road bikes/commuters/hybrids/cyclo-cross bikes/tourers etc.

Wheel size doesn't come into it unless you go down to the smallest of the small ladies frames and kids bikes. No reason she should specifically be looking for something with mountain bike wheels unless she plans on using the bike exclusively for mountain biking (having said that, some hybrids such as the carrera subway come with 26 inch wheels but with slick road tyres). 700c wheels like on the dawes are probably better for the road.
