    Hi all,

PC Emulator may not be the right term. I'm trying to find out if there is a way to control your Android phone via your PC i.e. dial numbers to make outbound calls, send text messages, view homescreens, run apps etc etc?

    Cheers,

    Ben

You can use bluetooth to do a lot of that stuff. If your PC doesn't have BT you can buy a little usb transceiver for as little as 2 euro.

    Something like Droid VNC?

Control your android within your computer over USB or Wifi!

Allows you to remote control your android within your computer!

    Features:
    - Password authentication
    - Rotate/Scale
    - Wifi & USB & 3G (when supported by carrier)
    - Mouse & Kb emulation
    - Open-source
    - Clipboard support

    You need a ROOTED device.

I knew I had read something about this recently, just found it again here at Phandroid. Lazydroid, sounds like most of the features work without root :)

I tried that one last night after searching the market but not really impressed with it's rather basic front-end and functionality.
Remote Web Desktop seems more promising and from what I can see so far the Free version works just as well as the paid version but the FTP transfer rate is restricted and you get https connectivity in the full one so may upgrade yet.
