PS3 just broke, how do i remove my details of it?

    Anyone know how I could get my details off a PS3 slim that wont power on?
    Ill probably be getting it replaced and dont want my details on it.

    Also if I get a replacement PS3 slim is there anyway I could get my games saves etc from it?

    If they fix it, your hard-drive will be formatted anyway, so there will be nothing on it.

    Edit: Maybe not. I just assumed it was a YLOD - not sure now.

    Or change your password on the playstation site once PSN comes back. Even if your old PS3 gets repaired by someone, they won't be able to use your PSN account.

    Or as mentioned, remove the hard drive. Use it in something else or dump it.

    If your plans on keeping the hdd for your new playstation with you game games on it, they wont transfer into the new ps3. That hdd is linked to your slim ps3 and will be automatically formatted when it enters a different ps3. Im afraid the only way to transfer game saves now is to try and get your slim powered up and do a back up
