screeching from front right wheel

    What am i missing? father in-law rang me about 2 weeks ago about the screech coming from the wheel and it stopped when he braked.I reckoned straight away it was the brakes.He dropped it over to me but the brake pads are fine with plenty left on them,tried the car and there was no screech and brakes were fine.He rang me this morning to say the screeching is there but only went the car is on a camber turning to the left and the screeching stops if he presses the brake.
    It's a 1.4 fiat stilo 2003 any hints on what to look for?THANKS

    What was the condition of the disks? If the disks are worn and they have a lip around the outside then the pads wear clip could well be touching the lip.

    Did you check the inside and outside pads?

    I checked both inside and outside pads they are both fine ill have a look at the disk when he brings it over to me later i drove it for about 10km and couldn't hear any noise from it i thought he was hearing things he drove from dublin to tramore at the weekend and it didn't screech but was going up the off-ramp to maynooth on tuesday and heard it.

    Have you checked the condition of the wheel bearing?

    My car had a horrible screech from the front right wheel.... I eventually tracked it to a little pebble trapped between the disk and the heat shield.

    I agree with deandean. Same thing happened to me last year. Loud screech from front wheel then nothing then back again. I rang my friend in the garage and he said it could be a trapped pebble. It went after a day or two and no prob since.

    forgot to update,after going for along test drive i still got no screech.I replaced brake pads and disks all done i thought.A few days later it was back but it was in it the whole time now,I heard the screech F**KIN WIPERBLADE.:mad:
