Rally School Ireland Options

    Lo all,

Just wondering if any of you have been to the rally school in Monaghan.

I have a voucher and am torn between the different courses. (Rally vs Drift and also the different rally options if I go that way.)

Any recommendations from anyone? I drive an S2k myself - decent driver at the mo but would like to come away from the day with a better idea of how to handle the car and have some fun with it. And also have a bit of craic on the day of course. :D

Previous threads from a few years ago suggest the Impreza type courses are too fast for the track they use which could be the case... so assuming the 350Z and Ferrari courses could be the same?

    All suggestions welcome.....

    Cheers,

    IZ.

I went a few years ago and did a full day in the MkII Escorts. A brilliant day but boy have the prices gone up since then :(. What we paid for a full day is only a half day now!

i done the rally day up there 3 times... loved every min of it... i think now tho (i could be wrong) its all tarmac.. as apposed to half gravel as it once was... i done the half day in mk2 escort and half day in version 5 impreza.. fantastic...

well worth the trip up... we stayed in a b&b and went on the beer after it lol David Smith who runs it is bang on and an incredible driver...

you will be glad ya went :)

Ya meant to say its all tarmac now instead of half gravel, half tarmac. Not as much fun I'd imagine!

Cheers for replies. Deffo all tarmac now. Would think the prices have gone up due to the new cars.

Did you find the imprezza too fast for the track?

Half day is the way to go no matter which cars you go for. Its the best value and long enough for your first time.

Try the 325 bmw and the 350z on the rally stage leave the ferrarri til you go back again ... which you will.

I'd rate the 350Z way ahead of the ferrari aswell for craic and control

    Enjoy

Was thinking about doing this soon myself. Was leaning toward the 911.

911 are a bit understeery until pushed quite hard so alot people dont like that. Wouldnt be bothered with anything that is AWD either to be honest.

Cheers. I guess maybe the 350Z could be the best option so, and since it's pretty close to my own car whatever I learn might be more useful.

Go to Mondello and do the driver training day you big girl. Bargain of a day out that you will not beaten for value.

The OP has a voucher for Monaghan!

However, I've done the school in Mondello a few times in the past and while it was good, it was nothing compared to about 25 of us going karting (twin engined IIRC) there in the pissing rain - that was a fun day!

    Hi IZ

Hope the feedback you received from our previous customers has helped in your decision making on how to use your voucher. S2k nice car, you will have to bring it on the day with you and maybe do a bit of drifting. I think you would enjoy the drift day (next date 29th May) you get to drive the BMW 325i Sport and the Nissan 350z.For the half day you do stages in each the BMW and Nissan giving you 24 laps of our 1.1km full tarmac rally stage. The rally stage is more like a normal road so much more exciting than a circuit. Hope this is of help!
