Where in London are you going?
Do you have digs lined up or do you need to get some?
    What are your tax/NI implications?
How does it impact on your ability to get dole/JSA/Grants when you get back? (if you need to)

Possibly East or South-East London then. But you need to find out a little more.

Depends on where you stay, but you should know that the tube links there are practically non-existent. Overhead/buses would be the way to go unless you have a car. Plenty of decent pubs/bars/ restaurants and you can get to the West End if you want to go up West.
