A.P.S. brand and the ASR103.

Hi everyone.

I'm thinking of getting the ASR103 airsoft rifle soon of www.AirsoftGuns.ie and I'd like to know does anyone have it. I'd like to know:

* Is the gearbox any good?
* Is the hop-up chamber any good?
* The quality of the metal ( Not the cheap Chinese metal).
* Also for the price of 200 Euros... is the blowback worth it?

And I'd like to know what are your thoughts on the brand itself. Are they better than Tokyo Marui/ Classic Army or could this be the next biggest brand of AEG's in airsoft?

If you go to the 'best ebb' thread, you'll get a good idea.

Blowback is pretty damn good, nice action, and decently designed mech.
Gearbox is great, wiring a bit naff, hopup is ok, but worth swapping eventually.


Next biggest brand? Don't think so, anyway, you missed g&g, g&p, King Arms etc... They are good, and for €200 is pretty solid. (I hope you dont think 200 is a lot :P Wrong sport)

Not a bad gun overall, higher performance out of the box than a fair few of similar origin.

I found the gearbox well made and a breeze to work on compared to some of the other exploding,spring into the eye clones.
The hop-up was meh, neither good nor bad.
Same goes with the metal but better then some past clones.
I found the stocks on them to be a tad wobbly for my liking but for 200 bucks you cant go wrong.

As Kitten said the blowback is quite good but its not my thing.

As I said for 200 bucks (excluding battery and charger ) you cant go wrong.There not going to be the next best thing but I'm sure they'll hold there own in the budget/clone price bracket as that price range has had a shortage of late.

I read the thread and if I can remember I think you said you did a bit of work on the rifle itself. I just want to know something. If something went wrong with the gearbox and you had to field strip it just to fix it would it not be more difficult to fix because its an EBB or is the airsoft rifle more easier to fix than an non EBB rifle?

I'd like to know if this battery will be alright for this airsoft rifle and should the ULTIMATE wiring be alright aswell?

Um, I worked on the gun in a technician capacity. A guy wanted his upgrading. The gun itself is about the same as a normal aeg to work with.
The blowback part just sits in the top of the gearbox, and unlike the old blowback systems, is pretty well reinforced around the shell.
Bout the same really, all the internal parts are normal v2 parts apart from the anti reversal latch, which sits on a pin fixed to the shell, which makes it better in my book.
Overall pretty normal work apart from having to remove the holdback (bolt release) to take the box out, (A single pin)

Those parts should be fine.
