    Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has any dealings with this crowd?

    http://www.cameractsale.net/

The prices look a bit too low to be legitimate but they come up as a sponsored google search result.. (I know that doesn't say a huge amount.. but still)

I'm looking at a 60d and is listed at 579 here:

    Any feedback would be appreciated

    Cheers

    Hi

Well, the site was only registered a few days ago so I'm already leaning towards a scam site.
    Domain Name.......... cameractsale.net
    Creation Date........ 2011-05-01
    Registration Date.... 2011-05-01

Clicking on the About link takes you to cameract.com which tells us that
The company began in 2003, when local businessman George Hatfield opened a chain of 14 high-street shops selling digital cameras in and around London. In 2008, he set up cameract.com as the online arm of the digital cameras retail industry and such was its success that company sold the shops in 2010 to concentrate his business solely online.

For a site that was set up in 2008, it's odd that whois tells us that it was created about a week ago :
    Domain Name: cameract.com
    Expiry Date: 27-Apr-2012
    Creation Date: 27-Apr-2011

I didn't bother looking any further but I'd stay well away if I was you.

    Regards

    Liam

Edit : I see the cameract.com side of it has already been answered here

Thanks for taking the time for looking into the details... I assumed as much but thought it was strange it was the first sponsored hit on a google search. I would of thought there was some amount of screening for such ads but there you go.

For the record my budget was set a little higher for the 60d!

    Cheers

Im close to buying the 600d myself.
This guy is the cheapest i have found. looks like a good record etc.
    60d (no lens): 970+20=1000
    http://shop.ebay.ie/digigood/m.html?_nkw=60d&_sacat=0&_odkw=&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3911.c0.m270.l1313

60d (no lens): 855+40=900 (though these guys come out more expensive for my 600d without a lense)
    http://shop.ebay.ie/digital-rev/m.html?_nkw=60d&_sacat=0&_odkw=&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3911.c0.m270.l1313
(he is a bit confusing about "NO VAT/NO TAX" but does make it clear that we dont have to pay anything more)

I checked the canon refurbished site but dont have any 60d,600d.

Im going to type up all the sites i checked & prices when i get a chance and post them up here.

I haven't decided where to buy from yet. I'll most likely buy from somewhere in Dublin as the saving isn't exactly huge and I like the convenience of going into a shop!

Let me know how you get on though

    Cheers

Same site as JustCanon, JustNikon and a host of others. All scam sites. If it's too good to be true then it's too good to be true.
