Reading the A&E upfront release, seems the 1979 movie is due for a two-parter reboot

Coma miniseries: ”From the team behind A&E’s Emmy-nominated miniseries “The Andromeda Strain,” and the hit drama series “The Good Wife,” comes this modern day retelling of the bestselling novel by Robin Cook and film by Michael Crichton. “Coma” is a medical thriller about a doctor who discovers that something sinister is going on in her hospital after routine procedures send more than a few seemingly healthy patients into comas on the operating table.”

^ the original was pretty good, but based on Andromeda Strain it'll be a total turkey....AS remake was utter crap, they RUINED that great movie!

First up if you copy and paste from elsewhere please have the decency to post a link to the original. Also is this not more at home in the Television forum.

I enjoyed the Andromeda Strain remake, it was trash but trash of the msot enjoyable kind. Crichton's work is more at home on the screen than on page, he's the original Dan Brown only with a better editor.

    Agreed!

Can there be a rolling film news thread for these copy-paste-from-Deadline (or wherever) topics? There are so many threads saying such and such a project has been announced with no discussion.

Sorry for the mini-rant:o but I don't think there's a lot to talk about with this press release.
