Buying a road bike after many years on a MB and a Hybrid. My budget is at entry level and these are the 3 bikes i have short listed but i cant seem to tell which is the better one. Giant Defy 3/Giant Defy 4 triple Chain set or the Trek 1.1

Can anyone make the choice for me and tell me why, thanks in advance.

No need for a triple unless yo actually want one, other than that which ever one you like the look, feel and cost of. Where you buy it maybe a factor but to be honest it really is which ever one makes you smile the most. I ride a Trek and cant find fault with it, I'm not mad about treks but would prefer it to a giant, but that's only my personal opinion.

IIRC the Defy 3 has a carbon fork but the Defy 4 doesn't. +1 for the Defy 3 then.

The Trek looks and feels better, its retailing for €729. Have one of the bike shops down to €680. I wonder would it be possible to go lower than this, it does seem to be a better bike.

From what I'm reading the Trek has an aluminum fork!!
Things seem to be going backwards, though the price is pretty low, op any chance you could up your budget a few quid? Those bikes will certainly work away but if your looking to get into road biking you may end up wanting to up grade this time next year, but like I said those bikes will work away for you all the same.
