So I have looked around and haven't been able to find a good answer, if my friend buys portal2 for the ps3 can he make an account on his ps3 then connect that account to MY steam account and then enter the code?
Would this work and if it would, would that mean that in future I couldn't link any other games without losing the copy of Portal or is it possible to unlink it from his ps3?
I know that psn has been down and people haven't been able to link their accounts but do you think it would be possible?

Your steam account would forever more be linked to his PSN account and as no one can try it yet with PSN being down i don't now what happens if he tries to play online with a steamworks game(portal 2) in the future as you'll both be using the same Steam account to play online(him on PS3 and you on PC)

I've been reading online and people have said this way would be impossile to play co-op. The solution is to set up a new PSN account, link this to your friends Steam account, and use the redeem code.

Meanwhile, sign into your PSN profile after this is done, and link this (or set up a new account).

This way you should be able to play co-op.

All I know is that the game is linked to the Steam Account on your PS3. I'm not sure how it works after that though - I'd be surprised if you're able to play cross-platform co-op without using Steam.

Also, because it's linked to steam you can only play either the PS3 version OR the PC version at any given time.

Not even sure if you can be logged into Steam on both at the same time. There are a lot of unanswered questions until PSN is back.

You cant play with each other on the same profile.

    I posted the solution yesterday.
