Digital tacho card

    Can anyone tell me if you can get a digital tacho card with a provisional licence?

    Check with the RSA, I am sure you can, due to the fact Buses after April 2006 and a lot of newer commercials have Digital Tachos fitted. How else can you drive these without either a licence of Tacho card.

    don't think so, theres no section on the application form for permit number, just licence number

    They say "INSERT DRIVING LICENCE NO" if this means driver number then it is the same on a permit as a full :confused:

    Yes.
    But everyone who has permit for trucks, must have a full licence category B for cars.
    Licence number is there so.

    To be honest I don't think there's anything stopping anyone from getting driver's card on normal car B licence.

    F.E. you might need a tacho for driving big van's on B licence in foreign countries.

    Just for the record the answer to this question is YES you can get a digital tacho card on a provisional :)
