    Hi folks,

I hope this is the right forum to ask this. A mate is facing the nct and needs to know if a problem with his driver door is a failure point.

The door opens and closes fine, locks are ok, no damage on door. The problem is when you open the door, it closes unless you hold it. The stay open "bit" seems to have broken.

Can he be failed for this?

    Tx

hi no you can not be failed for that. once the door opens and closes it will be fine. i dont even think they check the locks on it. theres nothing unsafe about a door not staying open.

Check strap? Yeah they will fail it, it acts as two things. Stops the door coming back on you and also if the wind catches the door that it doesn't swing all the way back

    Easy enough to replace.

    Thanks guys.

Ronaneire - don't suppose you could describe the process to fix.

It can't be fixed but replaced. Car breakers/scrap yard or main dealer for it.

You got to remove the door card to get in and remove the old one.
