soup kitchens and food banks in dublin?

Good afternoon everyone.

I'm currently thinking of writing a novel based on the life of a homeless girl in Dublin. When I write, I do my best to keep as true to reality as possible thus, for this story, I want to know exactly where a real homeless person would go for food/washing/etc. The idea behind my novel is to put into words, exactly what the homeless go through each day, to make up soup kitchens and such would seem disingenuous

This seems the best place to ask this question and whilst it's really releated to the subject of the board, I would be greatful if someone could fill me in or even point me in the direction of somewhere I can get this information.

Contact Vincent de Paul or Simon Community and they may help you. Theres a fair few clinics / food kitchens around Dublin that they help run or are involved with in some way.

There is a homeless centre in Bride Street Dublin, which is just off Patrick Street.

Dublin Civil Defence offered some limited homeless accomodation in association with the Simon Community. They may be able to put you in touch with some of their volunteers who were involved in same if you contact them.

The Lighthouse Centre on Pearse St. is where I did my CSPE Action Project... Very Catholic and "preachy", but they do a good job
