    My friend suggested this to me after hearing about it and reading some testimonials but I'm not so easily convinced on these things so thought I'd throw it up here for some investigation :)

    www.vortexfuelsaver.com

    For a start, the website is absolutely terrible and I'm not sure I'd trust everything they say as with all things, if it really did work, surely it would be more popular?

    This product is in the same category as "Mr Fusion"... science fiction I'm afraid.

    If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.

    I've done it already- I bought a push bike on the BTW scheme and my fuel bill has nearly halved.

    Placebo effect if any...

    The answer to all these "does it work" questions is - don't you think car manufacturers would be using it if it did? Considering all the other rigmarole involved in getting emissions down - start/stop, regenerative braking or only charging a battery when braking etc etc etc

    "The patent pending VFS uses modified ortho-hydrogen technology which automatically energizes the fuel for explosively increased combustion efficiency"

    Typical pseudoscientific rubbish. How people aren't prosecuted for false advertising for the likes of this I'll never know.

    Sub in muscles/protein into that sentence and you have the blurb of every "sports supplement"...

    I read the "How it Works" page, and the short version is "It does nothing".

    At least there is a scientific basis to protein supplementation if your working out hard. The fuel saver is complete nonsense.

    So the car manufacturers who are spending billions on increasing fuel efficiency overlooked something that can be fixed with a small and cheap gizmo?
    I'll be darned, I'll take two!;)

    I'm planning on doing it the standard way

    4.2l --> 2.0 and
    4.0l --> 1.3

    :(

    Thinking of selling on the fleet (bar the e31) <crying smiley here> :(

    This is a very old idea that keeps coming back every few years. The first time I came across it was in the early 1980s in the UK, when I was responsible for a large hire fleet. Some guys from a new company came to me and tried to talk me into fitting magnets to the fuel lines of all of our vehicles. My reaction was that if fuel molecules could be affected magnetically then they must be capable of being magnetised. In that case, why didn't they simply stick to the inlet manifold and never get into the cylinders?

    I wasn't disposed to try it! Like other posters have said, if it worked every vehicle would come from the manufacturers fitted with them.

    Because we well convinced, that our Socialistic Crime Control industry (near 100% monopoly + belongs to government) is the only choice.
    If would be motivation to people to join and share the fines for caught scammers, robbers, wouldn't be so much scammers.

    In this case i still prefer to test, because:
    1) i don't think some big companies and even police are dummies to invest money in to these gadgets http://vortexfuelsaver.com/28.html (testimonials) ;
    2) We are not told in schools about that structure is more important, than chemical formula. Great documentary http://sn.im/WaterMemory Here is testimonials for water structuriser: http://www.alivewater.net/testimonials/prod_test.htm
    3) they give up to 120days no questions asked money back guarantee

    Already done the sinful deed and went from an 1.6 supercharged and 2 litre diesel to a .7 litre.

    ****ing magnets, how do they work?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,857 ✭✭✭langdang

    Magnets on air intake and coolant pipes too! :confused::confused:

    I know a guy who has something similar on a 944 Porsche. And there's no explaining to him that it's useless. He's fully convinced by the 'science'.

    Then again, plenty of people believe in Homeopathy and the Zodiac.

    Since the "How it Works" page is lies, why would you trust the testimonials or guarantee?

    You'd be better off saying a prayer for better economy. Sure, there's no God, but at least it's free. :pac:

    I hear nuns use very little petrol, maybe there's something in your theory! Shur beaming happy thoughts at your engine should be at least as good as magnets on the air intake!
